The video above, in combination with the below supporting article from The Guardian UK highlight and tell the stories of the women victims of the coltan mineral industry. Rebel forces kidnap them, sexually assault and rape them, and hold them for ransom in order to demand money from their home villages. Rebel presence in their villages has forced them to shift from relying on farming to sustain their livelihoods, which everyone enjoyed and was used to, to having to provide for the rebel forces daily and go into the mines - women AND children.
